Barss Residential Care provides an environment that stimulates our residents’ intellectual, physical and spiritual life. Although our senior and adult brain injured residents are housed in separate facilities, both groups of residents benefit from services that include:

• Twenty-four hour care with a staff/resident ratio that far exceeds the industry norm. This additional staffing insures that each patient receives careful monitoring and prompt and attentive care.
• Personal care that includes bathing and dressing, laundry, escort to meals and activities, transfer and mobility assistance, medication distribution, catheter care, incontinence management, health education and health care monitoring
• Three meals/day and snacks are provided in two spacious and attractive dining facilities. Special diets are provided upon recommendation of the resident’s physician
• On-call physicians, podiatrists and on-site nursing supervision. Other professional services offered include physiatrists, neurologists, neuro-psychologists and social workers.
• On-site Physical, Occupational, Speech, Recreational, Music, Horticultural and Pet Therapy. All residents receive quarterly assessments and evaluations by therapists at no charge
• Developed working relationships with local hospitals, vocational rehabilitation agencies and community re-entry programs
• Transportation and accompaniment by a staff member to and from doctor’s appointments
• On-site beauty parlor
